Whispers of the Nest

**I. The Search**
Across the rainy sky he flew,
A weary heart in twilight hue,
The winds did whisper, clouds did sigh,
As he searched his nest beneath the sky.

**II. A Broken Home**
There stood a tree, bare and alone,
Its branches brittle as ancient bone.
Atop it lay his shattered nest—
A cradle once, now unrest.

**III. Echoes of Childhood**
He closed his eyes, the rain grew mild,
And dreamed again as a tender child.
Between warm wings he used to lay,
Safe in love, come night or day.

**IV. Playful Skies**
He soared with friends in sunlit gleam,
Their laughter stitched each forest stream.
Till twilight led his playful flight,
Back to parents, arms of light.

**V. Love's First Song**
Then bloomed a love so bold and bright,
They danced through clouds in boundless flight.
Their voices twined like river's tune,
Their hearts rose high beneath the moon.

**VI. New Beginnings**
Together they built a nest anew,
With strands of hope and morning dew.
He sang to his young as his father had—
Gentle, patient, strong and glad.

**VII. Farewells**
Time swept in with softened tread,
His father's voice forever fled.
Then mother followed, rain fell slow,
While children left to skies unknown.

**VIII. Lonely Days**
He and his love watched seasons pass,
In shared silence, on dew-streaked grass.
Stories stirred in memory's haze,
Of bright, unending, golden days.

**IX. Moon Alone**
But fate grew still—the nest grew cold,
She vanished like a tale once told.
He dared not return to where dreams began,
Nor to the nest they'd built by hand.
Alone he soared through midnight's dome,
Like the moon—unchosen, far from home.
